| ⑦ アンクルン Movies Angklung アンクルンは、西ジャワを起源とする楽器で、竹枠とその中にゆるく繋いだ竹筒から成る。複数ある竹筒は、ぶつかった際によく響くように削ってある。この楽器を演奏するには、演奏者は竹枠の元の部分を左手でしっかりと持ち、ベースになる竹の反対側に軽く右手を添え、楽器をゆすって音を出す。 Angklung, a musical instrument that originated in West Java, consists of bamboo tubes attached loosely together in a bamboo frame. The tubes are carved so that they have a resonant pitch when struck. To play this instrument, a musician holds the base of the frame firmly in his left hand and shakes the instrument with his right hand that lightly holds the opposite end of the base tube. |

| ⑨ アロワナ Movies Arowana (Sclerophages formosus) 「アロワナ」とは、「極楽」を意味するインドネシアの言葉を語源としている。アロワナは最も美しい淡水魚で、「極楽魚」、「龍魚」などの別名を持つ。この魚の人気は、良くも悪くも絶滅危惧種であることに影響を与えている。 The word “arowana” comes from the Indonesian word “arwana” or “nirwana,” which means “paradise” in English. For many, Arowanas are the most beautiful freshwater fish. They also have several other names, including “fish of paradise” and “dragon fish.” The popularity of this fish has had both positive and negative effects on their status as an endangered species. |
