鉄腕アトムなどを生み、子供たちに夢を与え続けた手塚治虫。
手塚治虫は、昭和21（1946）年、4コマ漫画「マアチャンの日記帳」で漫画家としてデビュー。翌年、臨場感あふれる手法を採り入れた作品「新宝島」が大ベストセラーとなり、戦後のストーリー漫画家の先駆けとなりました。その後、「鉄腕アトム」など多数のアニメ作品を制作し、アニメーションの世界にも大きな足跡を残しています。

Osamu Tezuka created comic characters including Astroboy, bringing dreams to children.
Osamu Tezuka, a comic-strip creator, in 1946 debuted with his four-frame cartoon “Maa-chan no Nikki (Maa-chan’s Diary).” In 1947 his spectacular “Shin Takara-jima (New Treasure Island)” became a big hit and thrust him into the limelight as a pioneering, post-war story cartoonist. He also produced many animation works such as “Astroboy” that was a milestone production.

歌謡界の女王としての地位を築いた美空ひばり。
美空ひばりは、昭和21（1946）年にわずか9歳で初舞台を踏み、昭和24（1949）年には映画に初出演しました。また同年にレコードデビューも果たし、歌と演技のうまさから“天才少女”の評判をとることになります。以降も数々のヒットを続け、“演歌界の女王”として確固たる地位を築いてきました。

Following her stage debut at the age of nine in 1946, Hibari Misora played her first movie title role in 1949. In the same year she made her record debut. Blessed with unusual talent in singing and acting, Hibari soon won acclaim as a genius. She established the unshakable position as “the queen of Japanese popular music.” recording many hit songs.

昭和30年代、新しい時代のヒーローとなった石原裕次郎。
石原裕次郎は、昭和31（1956）年、映画「太陽の季節」でデビュー。同32（1957）年、映画「嵐を呼ぶ男」のヒットでスターの地位を確立し、新しい時代のヒーローとして若者たちの圧倒的な支持を得ました。以降、青春映画やアクション映画などを中心に活躍し、テレビにおいても数々の人気刑事ドラマを製作・出演しました。

In the Midfifties, Yujiro Ishihara Becomes the New Hero of the Era.
Yujiro Ishihara made his debut in 1956 in the movie “Taiyo no Kisetsu (Season of the Sun).” In 1957 the movie “Arashi wo Yobu Otoko (A Man Who Brings a Storm)” starring Yujiro was a hit and made him a star. He won overwhelming popularity among young people as the hero of a new era. He mainly played adolescent roles in movies and action pictures. On television, as well, he produced and acted in a number of popular detective dramas.
